The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) is a state-level examination conducted for candidates wishing to teach school students as primary or secondary school teachers in the government schools of Odisha. The OTET 2022 application forms are expected to be released in the month of July 2022 on the official website of BSE Odisha. The candidates who have qualified B.Ed. and want to pursue a teacher’s job in government or private schools in Odisha state must crack this exam with a good score.
What is the OTET Exam?
The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) is a teacher eligibility test conducted and organized by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha. The test serves as eligibility for candidates who apply for teacher recruitment drives for Classes I-VIII in various Government, Private, and Private unaided schools.
Once the candidate qualifies for the OTET Exam, he/she will receive an OTET Eligibility certificate by BSE. This certificate does not appoint the selected candidate as a teacher but serves as an eligibility criterion for candidates participating in the teacher recruitment drives by various schools across Odisha. The validity for this certificate was 7 years until BSE changed it to lifetime in 2022.
